1. Evaluation & Consultation
very Shield Works assembly project begins with your initial ideas. Will your project involve manual assembly with trained technicians, or do you need the rapid capabilities of an automated machine?
We’ll evaluate your specific needs and start outlining the best course of action, an NDA will be available from the get-go to protect your idea!
Please note that we only work with companies with a feasible product, we are straight talkers and if we believe your idea is not good, we will let you know right from the start.
2. Route to Market Plan (RTMP)
After the initial consultation, and if the project is feasible, SW will provide a comprehensive RTMP (Route to Market Plan) which outlines the exact steps required to complete the project.
Whether your job is a new in-house creation or a reassembly project with updated firmware or a product assembly process you are looking to relocate from your own shop floor, our specialized technicians will create a production solution that meets the specifications of your approved sample.
Each stage of the plan will be linked to a clear timescale, cost, and project phase deliverable.
3. Project Definition
After outlining the RTMP, our team will either help with R&D to finalize the project details or will start working on the Engineering drawings required for mass manufacturing.
Our team is very nimble, and we’re always open to new ideas. New training, new equipment, and even specialized processes are regularly introduced at our facility, helping to enhance our assembly strategies and bring your ideas to life.
4. Design for Manufacturing (DFM/DFMA)
At this stage, a DFM (Design for Manufacturing) evaluation will be conducted to refine the design for manufacturing and assembly.
Our years of experience on the ground allow our industrial designers and engineers to develop the BOM and engineering files in record time.
Once the BOM (Bill of Materials) is completed and confirmed with you, our team will work to find suitable manufacturers. At this point, you'll better understand the tooling and mass production costs.
Our proprietary system protects your product IP, by identifying different manufacturers for the different components of your product, ensuring only you and us know the secret of the sauce.
5. Mass Production & Assembly
When manufacturing your product, we can source individual components from different suppliers and conduct final product assembly in our production facility to keep your intellectual property safe.
Our experienced supervisors oversee and meticulously quality check every element of the assembly process and our state-of-the-art software systems and reporting provide a true open window into your manufacturing activities. The final project deadline and product accuracy standards are met under the expert watch of our dedicated team providing our clients with true peace of mind and more time to focus on their core business competencies
6. Quality Control & Logistics
During and after production, we offer Quality Control Inspections to ensure consistent output and identify potential flaws. Especially with new products, it's very important to identify potential quality issues and adjust accordingly.
